Shinbundang Line

Shinbundang Line D000-series

Before reading this section, it is recommended to read the "Brief Intro to Numbering" section on the Trains page.

The D000-series were built in two batches from 2010 to 2015. 20 trains were built, numbered D01~D20. All trains are six cars long.

These trains have an all-new design, nothing like other trains on other lines. The body is made of stainless steel. The front cabs are completly open for viewing, thanks to its driverless operation. They are the only subway trains in the system to feature plug doors.

Operating speed is over 90 km/h (56 mph) allowing for the entire line to be run in just 37 minutes.

In the interior, LCD TVs are placed overhead on the sides of the car, and one on the front and back. The seats are fully cushioned. Door warning lights are also installed.

These trains are propelled by a Mitsubishi VVVF-IGBT system, with an IPM from Hyundai Rotem. It is the same unit used on trains on the Airport Railroad (AREX).
